Janík is back on the wave!
After the Italian mission, returned Nutrend Racing Team to the Central Europe. And in the beginning we have to say, the return was successful through many dramatic moments.
Next stop of the Championship was Slovakia, the track named Baba. This place is close to Bratislava and in the mind of our driver there aren’t good memories from last years. He didn’t manage any podium placement here. “After second place in Rieta and failure in Trento Bodone, the competitive started to set up their heads. That’s the reason we needed good result and to get the team to comfort” referred Václav before leaving to Slovakia.
But the first day showed it’s going to be very hard and the team was about million miles away from comfort. To the circle came storm and the organizers had to cancel one training session.
Weather wasn’t better next day and it started to rain right before first race. Team management reacted and decided to change tires to medium version. But next minutes showed that this choice wasn’t the best. “It was one the worst races in my career. I was thinking that damnation continues and I will be probably the last one,” said Václav. But the result was little bit surprising for him. He was second with lost one tenth. “I chilled out immediately. We changed the tires and in the next race I was ahead of 5 seconds.”
After this weekend Václav could be calm, because he will be, the worst, third like last year. But this year it would be disappointment. “The year is wonderfully opened but I don’t like strong speeches. Now I’m focused on next race in Maribor” told us Václav Janík in conclusion.
